Description

Oribasius of Pergamum (fl. AD 300) was the Emperor Julian’s personal physician and author of a considerable canon of medial literature. In this study, the author has collected and presented a bilingual translation of a selection of Oribasius’ writingconcerning female sexual pathology. In addition the author looks at Oribasius within the broader historical context – from the Corpus Hippocraticum, through Aristotle, to the great Hellenistic doctors Galenus and Soranus Ephesius.
