The author of this technical study, an engineer and specialist in industrial heating systems, developed this work from his interest in temperature conditions in ancient buildings that were heated by early types of central heating with hypocausts andtubuli, warming floors and walls with hot air from wood-fuelled fires outside the building. The author applies technical processes and related mathematical formulae used today for the caloric calculation.
