Description
The subject of this study is hunter-gatherer adaptations to high altitude, focussed around the little-known valley of the River Atuel in the province of Southern Mendoza, Argentina. The research is original, using latest methods and techniques withina context of current archaeological theories. The author also identifies new trends in the history of hunter-gatherer populations, which have implications and applications for groups on other continents than South America.
