This first volume of the proceedings of the 19th International Conference of the European Association of South Asian Archaeology, held in Ravenna in 2007, focuses on the Prehistoric periods, from the Mesolithic to the Bronze Age. The international contributions showcase approaches from various subdisciplines, including studies on material culture, bioarchaeological studies, landscape archaeology and studies of climate and farming practices, observations from specific excavation reports, and examinations of ancient thought and ideas, and cover a broad territory, from Central Asia to Southeast Asia.
