Description
This ‘garland’ of research papers in South Asian archaeology is presented as a tribute to Prof. Vidula Jayaswal. In their variety and scope, the twenty-three articles (three in Hindi) reflect the versatility and range of Prof. Jayaswal’s interests and show the breadth of the specialties of the scholars that she inspired throughout her career. The contributions, which cover sites across the length and breadth of South Asia, and a temporal scope from Prehistory to the medieval period, include studies in ancient thought, lithics, Neolithic agriculture and subsistence patterns, rock art, burial practices, ceramics, Buddhist and Hindu art and temples, and medieval adornments.
