A new study of the Old Akkadian tablets in the collection of the World Museum Liverpool (Liverpool, UK). This presentation comprises three sections. Chapter 1 recounts the modern history of the tablets. It deals with the acquisition of the tablets in theearly twentieth century and surveys scholarly treatments of the texts following their first publication in the 1950s and 1960s.
